Emerson died doing what he loved on January 28, 1930 in Imperial, California at age 22. Emerson was a Barnstormer in the 1920's. A history of Barnstorming was a history of human courage and risk taking. Barnstormers were airplane stunt pilots. Stunt pilots exposed their audience to dangerous spins and maneuvers such as loops, barrel rolls, stall turns, wing overs, wing walking, changing planes, and stunt parachuting.
