SWL QSL 1924 New Brunswick, New Jersey
Here is an interesting SWL card
that was sent to 2BY Erwin Oeller of Schenectady, NY. It was sent
by Theodore Henry Youse of 149 Bayard Street of New Brunswick, NJ
on January 17th, 1924.
The reason I say this card is interesting is because Theodore was
born in Cambridge, Indiana on 11/5/1844.
On his 19th birthday (11/5/1863) he enlisted in Company A of the
124th Regiment of Indiana Infantry Volunteers in Connersville,
Indiana.
He served 2 years in the Civil War and was discharged with the
rank of Corporal on 6/3/1865 at Beaufort, North Carolina because
he was incapacitated for service.
He moved to New Brunswick, NJ on 5/1/1874. He was a member of the
Boggs-Janeway Post No. 67, G.A.R.
He died on 1/3/1933 at age 88. He was pretty old (80) for a SWL.
Most people involved in radio in those days were quite young.
