2BRB 1923 Brooklyn, New York

Operators: 2BRB Edward M. Glaser

QSL of 2BRB who was Edward Maurice Glaser of Brooklyn, NY.
He and his friend 2BJF who was Glenn Brenner Phillips, also of Brooklyn, constructed one of the best stations in the 2nd District when they were both only in their early teens.
This QSL is from 5/6/1922, and unfortunately Glenn Phillips was severely injured 3 months later on 8/9/1922 while swimming when an out of control motor boat struck him and he was cut by the propeller.
He was only 18 years old at the time of his death.
2BRB became W2BRB and was the ARRL Assistant Division Manager of Eastern New York. There are many early magazine articles that featured Edward's station.
He attended City College of New York, where he studied electrical engineering. He later took graduate courses at New York University and Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute.
He went on to work as a research engineer at Kollsman Instrument Company in the 1930's, where he remained for much of his professional career, rising to chief electrical engineer.
