8AWP 1922 Syracuse, New York
Operator: Samuel Woodworth
Just a few months later he would put his radio station WLAH on
the air.
He was involved in amateur radio as early as 1912 but I have
found no proof that he was licensed before about 1920.
He also held the call sign W8KIR in the mid 1930s and W2VZ
in the mid 1940s.
He was appointed ARRL City Manager for Syracuse in 1921 and
Assistant Division Manager for Western, NY in 1923.
At the time of his death in 1954 he was General Manager of radio
station WFBL.
Station snapshot from Popular Radio Magazine from August of 1923.
