Daniel Jones, USNR, a veteran of World War II, W5OJ, ex-K5NBS and
A3OTP (MARS).
He was first licensed in 1927 with the call W5OJ. He enlisted in
the U.S. Navy Reserves October 5, 1936. In 1940 he was employed
as a radio engineer at a broadcast station in Texas.
In 1935 Jones and Walter Harold Kimmell copyrighted a song
--"It was written in the Stars." Jones wrote the
lyrics and Kimmell handled the melody.
He was born on Christmas Day 1910, and died
September 5, 1971.
