Operator: John Bross, Jr. was a member of the MCARC (Mercer County ARC) and OO (Official Observers). John was my CW Elmer at the old Sharon Radio Club in Farrell, PA. He taught CW the proper way, by sound and not memorizing dots and dashes. He gave me my Novice exam in 1963 (age 12) and made me copy CW at 8 WPM for the test (the test requirement was 5 WPM). I passed and became WN8KCX, now K8CX.
