1AWE 1928 Providence, Rhode Island

I just discovered one of my Elmer's QSL cards on hamgallery. I met Norman when I was eleven years old, one of the first hams I ever met. Shortly afterwards he gave me a stack of about two dozen QST's to read. I last saw him when I was twelve years old. I never knew he was licensed in the 20's, nor did I know that he was a DXer in the 20's. I always smiled when I heard him on the bands. He was CW only, and strictly a DXer.  He always sent his call as  W1AW E  with an extra space before the E.
