Nelson B. Stackpole was a "Spark Op," making his first 2-way contact in 1906. In 1914 he was 1TU. Following World War I he was 1OW, followed by W1OW.
He was chief of police for 31 years, then a bank guard.
He was born May 25, 1890, became a Silent Key in August 1967.

Member of the Providence Radio Assn, the longest continuously active amateur radio club in America.
