W5HWG 1940's El Paso, Texas

A piece of slab wood with artistry W5HWG Carl Smith of El Paso was mailed in the 1940's to W2TOH in Rochester NY. The stamp affixed was for .03 cents and order slip from the Kress Company, El Paso, TX. The date was not readable on the cancellation. There is a picture hanger on the back. The art work size is 4 by 6 inches.   Carl Smith was the Asst Manager of S. H. Kress Co. El Paso, the department store chain. The building stands empty now and Google maps reveal the fine workmanship of the building that the city desires to rebuild.
