9BMF 1929 Poynette, Wisconsin

This station is both Amateur 9BMF and Broadcast WIBU in Poynette, WI. using wind power for both.
He even sent EKKO stamps.
I wonder where he attached his Antenna.

Both call signs were actually registered to William C. Forrest of Poynette, Wisconsin.
His father was James Francis "Frank" Forrest and probably the money behind the operation.
WIBU was founded in 1925 and like the ad says they used wind to power the station.
Ironically the call sign they were issued could easily be translated to "Wind Is Being Used" or "Wind is Behind Us".
William C. Forrest is regarded as an early pioneer in Wisconsin broadcasting. There is a road named after his station called Wibu Road in Poynette.
