XV5AC 1972 Vietnam

The crew at XV5AC gave me a special QSL for my QSO with them. I was their QSL Manager and they didn’t think that I should have to write myself a QSL card. They obtained a native Vietnamese hat, filled out all the essential information needed to confirm my contact and carefully had it hand carried stateside by a returning State Department employee. The photo shows Bob White W1CW, the DXCC Manager at the time actually checking my QSL for DXCC credit as one of a few other QSLs submitted for endorsement. It was done at an ARRL Convention, in 1972 in Boston.
That kid on the right is a much younger W1YRC.
