VK4EV 1968 Willis Island

The 80m/20m home brew SSB phasing rig did the job with just 50W PEP. It’s amazing how little power you need if you are ‘rare dx’.
The six metre transmitter pictured, was a 10W crystal filter SSB unit with a QQE03/12 pa.
Unfortunately, an overtone oscillator crystal failed soon after I arrived so my greatly anticipated six metre activity did not eventuate.
