HVA 1925 French Indo-China
In 1926, the prefix
"FI1" is imposed for Indochina. The P.T.T. station in
Saigon becomes "FI1A", but Hanoi remains
"HVA". Richard Jamas becomes "FI1B".
This card is from chief Fournier radio service Hanoi, French
Indo-China ... its listed in the Amateur radio call books.
The translation of the message
in French on the card is -
" Thank you for your QSL card. I can advise you that HVA
calls CQ every day at 2000 GMT until 2015 GMT. He then listens
for replies from 2015 GMT to 2030 GMT on the 30 and 40 metre
bands.

HVA was the first station of the French P.T.T. administration in Indochina. The station was built in 1909 and "open" in 1910 for the telegraphic service between Paris and Hanoi (with relay). At this time "HVA" was running 25 kilowatts, with alternator, of the S.F.R. Cie. In 1925, Hanoi used new equipement, and one on short waves.
