Hans Bauer D4BAR, ex: D4UAN, D4UAY, D4VQ, D4KAY, D4ARR, D4BAR and DL1DX after 1949. After the war he run one of the major suppliers of ham radio equipment in Germany. In 1957 he became "life time" president of the local section Bamberg B05 of the postwar german amateur radio club (DARC) until his death in 1987.

Heavy weight Bauer Cast Iron Morse Keys were made by Hannes Bauer in Germany. He became an  amateur  in  1920.  After  WWII he got the callsign DL1DX and in 1945 he started a firm in electronics. From 1956 he offered  bugs and paddles all made with a cast iron base at an iron foundry in the German city of Bamberg. From 1973 the Bauer catalogue no longer offered bug keys only paddles. The Bauer firm closed in 1983.

Hans Bauer D4BAR should not be confused with Hans Peter Baur, Hitlers personal airplane pilot during the war.
Hitler's personal pilot was Hans Peter Baur [B-A-U-R] (1897 to 1993). He was in Russian captivity until 1955.
