MS4FM 1950 Italian Somaliland
My understanding of the postwar Somalia situation is pretty well explained in the Wikipedia description of Italian Somaliland in the section titled British Military Administration (1941-1949). After Italy lost in WWII, the British maintained administration of ex-Italian Somaliland until November, 1949. After that a UN arrangement was made for Italy to once again administer it conditionally for ten years. My MD4GC and MD4TH cards are both prior to November, 1949, when British administration was in place. Those cards were from British Somaliland. Also at this time there were other MD stations located in Hargesia, which was British Somaliland all through the post WWII period until 1960, when it all became Somalia. You can see that all the Italian Somaliland cards on Toms site are dated from 1950.
MS4FM, was probably really in
Italian Somaliland, since it was dated February, 1950.
