PK7JV 1947 Biak Island, Netherlands New Guinea

1. CQ Magazine, dated December, 1947, states: "PK7, Netherlands New Guinea, Our friend PK6HA, now PK7HA, passes along the news that Netherlands New Guinea is now PK7, and that Celebes and Moluccas remain PK6." From that I assume the change of prefix took place in October or November, 1947.

2. PK7CR was ex PK6WS. The November, 1947 issue of CQ Magazine gives the QSL address for PK6WS as: "SGT Ronkes, A.A.C.S, Biak Island, N.E.I". This was presumably his address after he had moved from Celebes & Molucca and became PK7CR. Biak Island is definitely Netherlands New Guinea.
