KR6CG 1949 Ike Shima Island, Ryukyu Islands

Just for the record, I was the first to have KR6CG call sign on Okinawa from June 1949 to June 1950. I was with the 1962nd AACS Sqd. located at Yontan, Okinawa. I got some pressure from the Commanding General and the Coast Guard to give up my call. Since then it’s been W8DGF (1948), KB6BM (Canton Island), KH6DEM, and finally W8SN.
