EK1AA 1947 Tangier

EK1AA Arthur Kent DeVinney, Silent Key (1917-2006)

Ex-W8LMI (Hamburg, New York, since 1935), W3CXL/ W3WLM (1939, station located at WAR site, Ft. Myer, Virginia. WLM was net control station for Army Amateur Radio System), W3HNF (home station, Washington, DC, circa 1939) and W2RRY (Long Island, New York). He became W2RRY again and kept the call the rest of his life.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army May 8, 1942 at Boling Field, Anacostia, Washington, DC. He was a long time member of Air Force Mars (AF2RRY).

He was born May 31, 1917 in Hamburg, Erie County, New York, son of Arthur M. DeVinney and Bernice Hubbard. He died February 18, 2006; last residence Roswell, New Mexico.
