I1MV 1948 Trieste
Photo card sent to Barbara Dunn

Started as a SWL in 1925.
Licensed in 1927 at EG6YL, Britian's first licensed YL.
Dear Mr. Roscoe, last day, my son
Giulio (age 36), sent me an e.mail relating your site. Once
opened, I found a big, joyful surprise: the postcard sent on
Jan.15/1948 to Miss Barbara DUNN. On that date I was less than
two years old! And I1MV - Giulio De Filippi was my father! He
died on 1975 a/c a car crash. He was an able radioamateur,
transmitting by morse (I think the term is CW), I remember when
he told me he reached twin WAC (twice all over the world). He was
making by himself trnsformers by a self-made spooling machine,
pre-ampli & final power (valve amplifiers), modifiyng &
improving receivers and trnsmitters. Looking at the writing &
signature on that postcard commoted me, like to hear a greeting
from my dad after so many years. Thanks again, Mr. Roscoe, thanks
a lot. I am very afraid the collection of my father QSL's has
been dispersed, but, if i'll find someone, it will be my care to
mail or postmail them to you, for collection and for hamgallery
museum. ps.: When TRIESTE reverted to Italy, my father missed,
for some reason, the I1MV nominative, so he modified with a new:
I1MVG.
I remain, yours faithfully,
Guido De Filippi
