VU2BK 1949 India
VU2BK was part of the 1st DXpedition into Bhutan in 1962 as VU2US/AC5 (after the operation of AC5PN in 1961).
Between my late dad VU2BK &
myself VU2DK, we put in over 100 years of Ham radio &
collected truck full of QSL cards!
Most I had to dispose off because of storage space, The rare ones
are already on the Net.
I must tell you that my dad was the 1st one in 1957 to work the
States on 40 Meter CW with an Army WIreless Set No. 19 running 8
watts.
The antenna was a long wire stretched within a valley & two
hills. It was too long so his soldiers & men pulled it up
using a Willy's jeep. It still had a half mile sag in it !
