W8BKP 1935 Washingtonville, Ohio

Here was a guy with a booming voice but a swell DXer, George Morrow W8BKP was known far and wide. He hung with a crowd that included W3CRA Frank Lucas. You have probably heard of the Lucas QTH! Nothing else need be said! George told me once he would hang out at the 3CRA QTH at Canonsburg, PA - drink beer, smoke Luckies when it wasn't a sin! W8SU

I don't know what paper it is from but probably from the Salem, OH or Lisbon, OH area. The time period should have been prior to the Great Depression. Mother mentioned once that Dad (W8BVH) had gotten out of ham radio when the deppresion hit. He moved from Lisbon to get a job on the WPA and ended up in Lancaster area. I know that Dad tried to stay in contact with George (W8BKP) but not sure if he ever did. When we would go to his parents in Lisbon, OH for Thanksgiving or Christmas, he would always try to contact George. Ralph Howes W8BVH, holder of his fathers callsign
